The news item can be viewed here - youtu.be/An221cUp90A Performance Driving Australia would like to clear up that although the Premier was in town yesterday and some reports indicated a fleet of corporate jets were seen landing at the Queenstown Airport – this was coincidental and in no way should be linked to this news article. The article surfaced after the recent announcement that locally owned and operated business Performance Driving Australia would be hosting a driver training and motorsport events at the airport. The venue formerly known as the Queenstown International Airport will now be referred to as the Queenstown Performance Driving Complex. “We are very excited to announce our first event to be held on November 8th and 9th at the Queenstown Performance Driving Complex. This event will include driving sessions for the general public as well as a Gymkhana style display, rally car rides and more. We will be hosting regular events at this venue and look forward to providing additional updates over the next few weeks. I would also like to clear up the rumour. We are certainly looking at attracting some big events but we won’t be giving away too much until we have deals locked in place” said managing director Mark Butcher. Mark and his team hope to work closely with the West Coast Council and local community groups in developing a program to help keep road users safe in the area. “As part of our planned events – we do hope to provide some valuable driver training for drivers of all age and we are excited to have a real positive impact locally” said Mark.
