MEDICARE - see medicare.gov about changes effective July 1 with the Durable Medical Equipment Competitive Bidding Program. Will impact WHICH suppliers you can use for full Medicare coverage of certain durable medical equipment & supplies (e.g. for oxygen, for diabetic test strips). Will NOT impact which physicians accept Medicare. The Competitive Bidding Program applies to Original Medicare only. If you’re enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan (like an HMO or PPO), your plan will let you know if your supplier is changing. If you’re not sure, contact your plan. Make sure your parents/grandparents know who can provide their supplies effective July 1, and make sure the new providers have their prescriptions so no interruptions!
