MEET JODI!! Theres Jodie Foster. And then theres Jodi and her foster! About two years old, Jodi is an unusual mix of Labrador Retriever and Beagle; perhaps a Labrador Beagle or a Beagle Retriever! Jodi was found as a stray on June 6th and taken to the Tucker County Animal Shelter in West Virginia. As it turns out, Jodi was pregnant. Little Jodi was lucky to end up at the shelter run by Cathy Parsons. Despite her limited staff and funding, Cathy goes to great lengths to help every animal under her care. On June 15th, with Jodis pups on the way any day, Cathy requested RADARs assistance. We agreed at once to help. One of the shelter staff, Maggie Brown, had opened her heart and home to provide Jodi with temporary foster care so that she wouldnt have to give birth alone at the shelter. Late in the day on June 15th, Jodi went into labor. But the next morning, there were still no puppies. Jodi was rushed to the vet, where an ultrasound showed three puppies. A cesarean section was performed. Unfortunately, none of Jodis puppies survived. Maggie told us this about Jodi: She is a darling little girl with lots of love to share. I dont believe that she was in a home before I fostered her, but she picked up on house rules like, go potty outside and dont steal the cat food very quickly! In my experience, Beagles can be a bit hard-headed, so I was impressed with how well she adapted to my home. Jodi is a little skittish, but if you crouch down to her level, she is ready to cuddle! She loves people and other animals. Since losing her puppies, she began adopting lots of stuffed animals that she likes to carry around and take care of! Every time I turn around she has another stuffed animal from the toy box!
