MEETING OF THE UET NEW VICE-CHANCELLOR LAHORE (21th December, 2014) A meeting of the newly appointed UET Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid with all the Deans of Faculties, Chairmen of Teaching Departments, Directors, Campus Coordinators, Principal RCET, HEC Focal Person, Registrar, Treasurer, Controller of Examinations, Convener Admission Committee, Project Directors, In charge Coordination, Director P&D, Security Officer, Public Relations Officer and Resident Officer etc in the Conference Room of Administration Block. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid met all the high ranking officials in a very peaceful environment.Speaking on the occasion the Vice-Chancellor said that my full support would be for research and my vision is the success of this university. He said that to see new ideas we have to support teaching. He also acknowledged the services of the present and the previous Vice-Chancellor Lt. Gen. (R) Muhammad Akram Khan. He said that their role and contribution really remarkable.He further said that I am fully aware of the fact and personally requested for their good ideas and implement in the academic, safety and other point of view. He said that I fully recognized, fell proud and all do my best and seek your guidence.Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid requested all the colleagues to spent more time and see what are the strong areas, teaching, faculty development programm, research and safety programm. Students should have proper awareness about safety programm, guiding students’ environment relating issues. He said these are the things I am looking forward.He also visited the Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering and met with the faculty members. Dua was offered for the children of Peshawar attack. He also discussed the examination schedule and said that date sheet should be issued right after the Winter Break-2014 لاہور( ) یونیورسٹی آف انجینئرنگ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی لاہور کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر فضل احمد خالدنے کہا ہے یو ای ٹی کو عالمی رینکنگ میں نمایاں مقام دلانا اولین ترجیح ہوگی۔ریسریچ اورفیکلٹی ڈویلپمنٹ پروگرام پر خاص توجہ دی جائے گی۔ سابق وائس چانسلر جنرل (ر) محمد اکرم خاں کی خدمات ناقابل فراموش ہیں جنہوں نے یوای ٹی کو امن کا گہوارہ بنایا۔ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں نے تمام شعبہ جات کے ڈینز اور سربراہوں کے اجلاس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا۔انہوں نے کہا کہ سینئر اساتذہ اور سٹاف کی مشاورت سے جامعہ کے انتظامی ،تدریسی اور تحقیقی امور کوآگے لے کر چلیں گے۔ میرٹ اور ڈسپلن کو یقینی بنایا جائے گا۔ اساتذہ ، سٹاف اور طلبہ کو ممکنہ سہولیات کی فراہمی میں کوئی کسر نہیں چھوڑی جائے گی۔ اساتذہ کو چاہیے کہ وہ تدریس کے ساتھ تحقیق کو بھی اپنا اوڑھنا بچھوڑنا بنائیں۔ اجلاس میں ملکی صورتحال کے پیش نظر سیکورٹی کے انتظامات کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔انسداد دہشت گردی فورس کے ارکان کو جامعہ پلان تشکیل دینے کی ہدایت کی گئی، غیر متعلقہ عناصر کی سختی سے چیکنگ، داخلی وخارجی راستوں پر سیکورٹی کیمرے، دیواروں پر خاردار تاریں لگانے کی بھی منظوری دی گئی،اس ضمن میں چیف سیکورٹی آفیسر کرنل ( ر) فاروق احمد خاں نے تفصیلی بریفنگ بھی دی۔اجلاس میں موسم سرما کی تعطیلات کی وجہ سے امتحانی شیڈول میں تبدیلی کی بھی منظوری دی گئی اور طے پایا کہ تعطیلات کے بعد مزید ایک ہفتہ تدریس کا عمل جاری رہے گا اور اسکے بعد ڈیٹ شیٹ جاری کی جائے گی۔ دریں اثناءوائس چانسلر نے مختلف شعبہ جات کا دور بھی کیا۔
