MEN IN HATS Pulling down the brim of their Stetsons ... they pull apart sidewalks with bare hands. Impasse at grid locked intersections they dissect remnants of emotion on a curb Who will be the first to fall ... who will be the last to stand? In frayed Brooks Brothers attire, they gaze at the Big Board. Shivering in sagging loins, they hedge their dimes on a whim. Their elegant ladies lunch at Bloomingdales, hauling back brown bags to brownstones. Sitting before vanities, they spray synthetic fragrances upon Botox brows and weep to Lifetime movies The Hubble Telescope scours the sky for intelligent life. Then with solar panels spent it tumbles back to earth. Falling into fragments, the city burst in flames.
