****MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL WHO ARE CELEBRATING TODAY ACROSS WEATHER-WEENIE LAND**** A HOLIDAY STATEMENT FROM STEVE TURK/COACH TURK/STEVE/NICKNAME (will not put my nickname up here)/DAD/UNCLE/COUSIN/ETC.ETC. all the different titles I have had over the years of teaching-coaching-and everything in-between. ### I am just SO fortunate to be in the situation I am currently situated in. To be giving so many of you the weather in a style that fits my personality, fits my passion for the science, is just over the top AWESOME. I am SO grateful for the opportunity, and just want you to know that I realize you can get the weather from SO many different venues. For this reason I continue to not just give you the weather but the METEOROLOGY. Yes peeps (cool way) the actual SCIENCE BEHIND THE WEATHER....I will not stop! You deserve better than what is thrown out at you on the 6:00 news...! *****MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT-WE ARE ABOUT TO GO INTO A MAJOR ATMOSPHERIC RE-CONFIGURATION. *****I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO SEE EXACTLY HOW THE PROCESS WILL TAKE PLACE. I BELIEVE I HAVE A GOOD HANDLE ON THE CHANGE... *****WHAT HAPPENS ONCE WE GET INTO THE NEW CONFIGURATION IS A GREAT QUESTION. IT IS VERY-VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE STORMS/SNOW EVENTS MORE THAN 3 OR 4 DAYS IN ADVANCE IN THESE KIND OF PATTERNS. HERE IS WHAT I AM PRETTY DARN SURE ABOUT: 1) We will stay somewhat mild through the weekend. In reality the WIND today is making it feel cooler than it really is. 2) A cold front will sneak through at some point on SUNDAY. It could touch of a shower or maybe a flurry up north, as it skips on by. 3) This front will be the gateway to the big change. 4) THE 1ST BIG QUESTION COMES UP RIGHT AWAY EARLY NEXT WEEK: DOES A WAVE DEVELOP ON THE FRONT AND MOVE CLOSE ENOUGH TO US TO GIVE A DOSE OF WINTER WEATHER? ****LISTEN....I AM NOT ONE FOR HYPERBOLE (easy...)...HOWEVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS...THE HEART OF WINTER AS IT APPEARS...COULD BE ALL THAT IT WAS WRITTEN UP TO BE...THE ONE QUESTION-STORMS?????/ Will it be DRY and COLD or will it be STORMY and COLD? FORECAST: REST OF CHRISTMAS-Breezy, a mix of clouds and some sunshine. Mild for the season....50s. FRIDAY-Partly to mostly sunny and chilly but not so much for the season. A west wind making it feel a bit colder, w/high temperature in the 40s. SATURDAY-Partly cloudy and still chilly...but! 40s.. SUNDAY-Partly to mostly cloudy. An outside shot of a shower or even a flurry well north. (Front coming through) 45-50 MONDAY-Sunshine followed by an increase in clouds. Colder 30s TUESDAY-Cloudy and cold.
