MESSAGE FROM CHIEF OF NAVY ON MEDIA REPORTING THIS MORNING This morning in an article in the Daily Telegraph an assertion was made that I was hauled over the coals by the Chief of the Defence Force (CDF) for defending the reputation of Navy people over allegations of mistreatment by RAN personnel. Nothing could be further from the truth. Earlier today I posted the following on Twitter: I appreciate the support of the Navys people expressed in the Tele story this morning. However, the story is incorrect. I have had nothing but CDFs agreement and support in defending the rep(utation) of Navy people. It was in fact CDF who came out first to reject allegations of mistreatment on 14 January. I want to assure all members of the Navy family of the unstinting support I have had from the CDF for Navy and Navys people throughout my time in command - this has been no more evident than in the last few tough weeks.
