MESSAGE MONDAY--- “’But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.’”---Matthew 6:33 Lately Matthew 6:33 has been on my mind and my heart a lot. It is a Scripture I have probably written about before, but the question I have been asking myself is, “Have I believed in vain?” Instead of making my passion and my course the direction of the world and things of the world I have chosen to seek first the kingdom of God and in doing so been cut out of the things of the world essentially. “Have I believed in vain?” Instead of investing my time in a career or a profession or a vocation I have chosen to rigorously study the Bible. This all being done by the power of the Holy Spirit and prayer. And then there is the ever present enemy, satan who tells me that I have indeed believed in vain because there are so few things I know how to do. Telling me that if I had not chosen to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness I could have been somebody, somebody important and powerful in the world. “Have I believed in vain?” Is what Cassie Bernall died for a waste and her mother who wrote the book, “She Said Yes” that I read that God used to convict me of my sin that lead me to repent of my sin (breaking the 10 Commandments) and trust in Jesus Christ to save me and forgive me? Is what Jesus died for a waste when He carried that cross through the Via Dolorosa (the path of sorrow) to the hill of Calvary where He satisfied the wrath of God and then three days later rose from the grave defeating death a waste? I THINK NOT!!! I join with what the Apostle Paul said by the power of the Holy Spirit: “But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.”---Philippians 3:7-11 I have said it before and I say it again, “I am a nobody that get’s to tell everybody about a somebody!” (I didn’t come up with that one by the way.) I will continue on by the power of the Holy Spirit in humility and submission to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and watch as God does add everything I need on to me as He already has in my life! I have a beautiful wife and children. I have a beautiful home and two cars that run! I have do have a job though it may not be glamour’s and amazing, I do have a job! But above all I have a place in heaven, my name is written in the Lamb’s book of life and no person, not even the enemy can take that away!! So I continue on down the narrow road, that is eternal life with God’s help and His Son Jesus Christ as my advocate!!! “’Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.’”---Matthew 7:13-14 & “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.”---I John 2:1-2 & “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”---I John 5:12-13
