MHS DAILY BULLETIN November 1, 2013 BELL SCHEDULE THIS WEEK Conference Schedule (see below) STUDENT NEWS Daylight Savings Time It’s that time of year again! Don’t forget to turn your clocks back one hour before going to bed this Sunday. Student Council Meeting There will be a student council meeting on Monday, November 4th, in the PAC during study time. Australian Exchange Australian hosts need to provide Mrs. Goodwin in room 202 their biographies by the end of today. Science Club The annual Halloween Science Club meeting is coming up on Monday, November 4th, at 2:30 in Mr. Wolfe’s room. Bring your carved pumpkins to room 205 before school and then join us after school as we blow them up! There will also be food and other Halloween-themed experiments. Veterans Day Assembly The Veterans Day Assembly is coming up and we want to honor all the veterans in our lives. Please send pictures of vets in your life to Mrs. Jaime Johnson at [email protected] by Monday, November 4th. Please include your name and the vets name, rank and branch of the military they served. Thank you so much! Career Center • National Multiple Sclerosis Society Scholarship - available to students living with MS or have a parent with MS. • Always Something Teen Writing Contest – open to students 9th thru 12th grades who share their own experience of a personal diagnosis, or about their experience with a diagnosis of a loved one, schoolmate, or friend • The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) will be held on November 7th. • Seattle University will be here November 6th. • Two seats are available for the field trip to visit the Everett and Monroe Campuses of EVCC on November 14th. M.A.P. MAP is cancelled this week. SPORTS Cross Country Chandler Crayton and D’Marco DeGross will be competing in the 4A District Cross-Country Championships Saturday at 1pm at Lincoln Park in West Seattle. We would love to have a crowd to cheer them on. Girls Basketball Attention Girls Basketball Players, if you are interested in trying out for the 2013-14 season, there will be a mandatory player meeting after school on Wednesday, November 6th, in Coach Chalfants room #604. The meeting will start promptly at 2:30. Open Gym There will be open gym today. Next week it will be on Tuesday and Thursday. More dates may be announced so come ready to play! Friday - 7:00 - Varsity Football vs. Cascade @ Monroe HS Saturday - Bi District Cross Country Meet @ Lincoln Park 4:30 - Varsity Volleyball district game vs. Snohomish @ Lake Stevens - bus leaves 3:00
