MI$$ION ACCOMPLI$HED! COW HARBOR WARRIORS HONORS SEMPER FI FUND WITH $25K DONATION HUNTINGTON, N.Y. – Volunteer members of the Cow Harbor Warriors will present a $25,000 check to an outstanding not-for-profit dedicated to honoring and enabling post 9-11 wounded and injured veterans. The presentation will be held at 12 p.m. this Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Veterans Plaza, Huntington Town Hall, 100 Main Street, Huntington. The contribution to the Semper Fi Fund represents the last of three separate $25,000 donations made by the Northport based not-for-profit organization for 2014. Last month, Cow Harbor Warriors presented similar $25,000 donations to two additional organizations committed to assisting local veterans – Paws of War and the Northport Veterans Administration Medical Center. The Semper Fi Fund, and its program America’s Fund, provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post 9/11 wounded, critically ill and injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and their families, ensuring that they have the resources they need during their recovery and transition back to their communities. Established in 2012, Cow Harbor Warriors is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization comprised of dedicated Northport community members focused on honoring and enabling individuals in the Tri-State area who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). Its volunteers raise funds and awareness and enlist the community’s support for organizations that advance wounded warriors past their visible and invisible injuries and help other veterans in need. The group’s annual Cow Harbor Warrior Weekend was created to raise funds and awareness and to host wounded warriors and their families for a weekend of recreation, celebration and appreciation.
