MIDMORNING PRAYER - WE ARE SECURE WITH THE LORD Short Reading Jeremiah 17:7-8 A blessing on the man who puts his trust in the Lord, with the Lord for his hope. He is like a tree by the waterside that thrusts its roots to the stream: when the heat comes it feels no alarm, its foliage stays green; it has no worries in a year of drought, and never ceases to bear fruit. The Lord will not deny his good things to those who walk in purity. – Blessed is he who trusts in you, Lord of hosts. Let us pray. Almighty, ever-living God, who at this third hour sent down your Holy Spirit on the apostles, send forth that same Spirit of love into our hearts so that we may bear faithful witness to you before all mankind.
