MINISTERS COUPLE BANQUET Having enjoyed the grace of God to have been married for 24 years now and sharing with many church leaders on their marital challenges, I think I can offer some sound wisdom to gospel ministers; 1. Marriage and ministry is like siemese twins, any attempt to separate them will lead to death of one or both. 2. A gospel minister must marry well, and right in the Lord. Your marriage can make or mar your life and ministry 3. When there is no peace in your home, there will be pieces in your ministry. 4. You can never succeed in ministry, in Gods estimation, without a good home 5. God hates polygamy-- either concurrent or simultaneous 6. God hates separation and divorce in His ministers, except when your life is physically threathened and in clear danger. 7. You must fight for your marriage to succeed. You dont quit at every little challenge or excuses. 8. You need marriage counselling and godly, experienced counsellors to help you face the many challenges of marital life. As a minister, your home is the first testimony of your faith. You can succeed as a lawyer, doctor ,engineer, governor, president or business man without a good marriage and home, BUT NOT AS A PASTOR. Your home will always affect your ministry. Peace, love and tolerance in the home leads to progress in the ministry. Dont let your marriage destroy your ministry and dont let your ministry destroy your marriage. Learn to strike a BALANCE.
