MISSING DOG IN CHANTILLY, VA: Some of you may already know that Paige from Thailand has been lost. She went missing from the Walmart in Chantilly near the Expo Center on Sunday afternoon Dec 14th We have a professional tracker working on finding her but we need your help, but ONLY if you can commit to doing what you sign up for. We will provide very specific guidelines from our tracker on what to do and how to do it. In this case, we dont want anyone to think outside the box as that can be harmful to the search. We must follow our trackers guidance exactly. 1. We need volunteers to patrol the area any time they can but especially at dawn and dusk. We do not want volunteers to get out of their cars - just drive slowly and observe. We need to check back alleys, areas behind businesses, any area where there is greenery (bushes, etc.) and anywhere there is a dumpster. You will have to drive very slowly through these areas looking for her. If she is seen, do NOT engage her (which includes calling her). If you see her, you will call Carmen immediately at 703.618.3647. 2. We are posting her picture and information on DC and VA Lost Pets groups on Facebook, and on Craigslist (under Pets and Lost Dogs). Please help us monitor these groups/pages in case someone reports finding her. Everyone can do this. If you see her, immediately call Carmen at 703.618.3647 and Patti at 540.229.9663. 3. SHARE SHARE SHARE! Everyone should share the attached poster on their Facebook pages, on any local listservs or groups they are members of, and any other way they can think of (Twitter, other social media sites, word of mouth, etc). This should be be done regardless of your location, but especially if you live in Greenbriar/Chantilly all the way out to South Riding. 4. We need to put up 11x17 laminated posters at every major intersection in the area. The posters should have neon paper behind them to draw attention. This is critical to the search. If anyone is willing to take the lead, have the posters made and laminated, and hang them, please email [email protected] 5. We need to set up 2 feeding stations - one where the camera is and one where Paige went missing from. They must be filled twice a day with smelly food (not dry dog food). Acceptable foods are canned dog food, McDonalds, chicken, etc. Can anyone commit to doing this? It is another crucial part of locating Paige. ONLY committed volunteers should offer to do this - it is one of the most important things that needs to be done and it MUST be done twice a day. Again, it is CRITICAL that if you offer to help with any task that you do it. We dont have a chance of getting Paige back unless we do everything in our power to find her. This is not something you can sign up for and and drop the ball. We cant stress enough how important this is. Paige is used to a tropical environment. She is not acclimated to the cold. We have to find her quickly. She can die from the cold. We are attaching a flyer for you to share, and a map showing the track Paige took. Please direct any questions to [email protected] Thank you.
