MJC Honors Student Alexandra Golikov won The Katherine Prize last Saturday at the Bay Honors Consortium Research Symposium at U.C. Berkeley. This is a highly competitive California-wide community college honors symposium, and The Katherine Prize is based on the written proposal, for the most elegant, sophisticated, and compelling abstract submitted by a presenter (in addition to the high-level of research and scholarship demonstrated). Alex also received an Honorable Mention as a finalist for The Heslet Awards. Her research was interdisciplinary, working with MJC Professors Jason Wolhlstadter from Literature, Mary Swier from History, and Chad Redwing from Humanities. MJC’s Honors Program is directed by Professor Eva Mo. Congratulations to Alex, and thank you to all MJC faculty who have supported her academic achievements!
