MM College of Pharmacy, Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana, Ambala, celebrated ‘Schrodinger’s day’ on account of 127th birth anniversary of Nobel prize-winning renowned Austrian physicist Erwin Schrodinger. The program was the outcome of conjoint efforts of both University of Mauritius and MM College of Pharmacy. This event was a part of the Virtual Conference on Computational Chemistry (VCCC-2014) which is annual online conference held in the month of August at University of Mauritius. Inaugural address presented by Prof. M. S. Rathore highlighted various achievements of the great scientist Erwin Schrodinger who developed a number of fundamental results in the field of quantum theory which formed the basis of wave mechanics. A quiz competition was organized to commemorate Schrodinger’s day at MM College of Pharmacy in collaboration with Department of chemistry, University of Mauritius. The program was co-ordinated by Dr. Prerna Sarup and Mr. Girish K Gupta, Faculty, MM College of Pharmacy. Prof. (Dr.) Vipin Saini declared final result of the quiz and presented certificates of participation and memento to the winning team. The key objective of the event was to inculcate interest in science and technology in the younger generation and also to develop their scientific temper. The objective behind this quiz was to promote not only educational reading but also recreational reading which helps in shaping up overall personality of the individual.
