TAMU’s specific objectives include the need to: enable students grasp a theoretical and practical understanding of the tourism industry; provide a link between students and the industry; and make students aware of Kenya’s tourist destinations. In this regard, the Association has planned a funds drive to enable it purchase a comprehensive camping gear comprising: 1. 10 – eight capacity TAMU-branded tents for Students and 2 small tents for Lecturers, 2. 60 school size mattresses, 3. 2 big jikos, 3 big sufurias, 4. Utensils (60 plates, 60 spoons, 60 cups) 5. 1 digital camera and 1 projector, 6. 1 lap top and an external disk, 7. 1 GPS receiver, 1 voice recorder, and 3 binoculars 8. 1 camp lighting and 1 spot light 9. 3 tent-bathrooms, and 10. 1 first aid kit. .…all totaling to KES 700,000. These equipment are key to actualizing objectives of field courses, teamwork and togetherness during academic trips. The funds drive is scheduled for Thursday 3rd October 2013 at Town Campus, KIPS Plaza-Iten Road as from 1.00pm. TAMU is most honoured to invite you to the occasion as a guest.
