MOM of the 272nd chapter meeting of Toastmasters Club of Pune held on 12th July 2014 The theme was Soccer There was a great response to the theme, leading to a full house at Rockies, BMC Software. There were 57 people present at this meeting The Sergeant at Arms Sudhir Dahake started the meeting at 5pm sharp and explained the rules and regulations of the meeting.There was also a round of introduction among the guests The Toastmaster of the Day DTM Prasad Sovani introduced the theme of the day and gave us a lot of information about the FIFA world cup and said that this world cup has reached its crescendo Grammarian Paras Kher introduced the word of the day Tackle and the Phrase of the Day Against the Run of Play President Azharuddin Khadri said that it is the Journey that is important and not the Destination. Every one has their own target and choices and when every journey in life is enjoyed, it is the best learning process. Since this meeting had a Special Theme: Soccer and also the FIFA world Cup,all the speeches were based on this theme The first speaker Vineeth Reddy Chitteti attempted Project 2 and started with a conversation between him and his friend, where there was a comparison between Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. He went on to talk about Soccer’s Holy Trinity: King Pele who is known for his humility and also how he is a part of UNICEF after his retirement, Diego Maradona who is known for the famous Hand Of God and Lionel Messi who is a reincarnation of Pele and Maradona and is a part of UNICEF.The Second Speaker Rabin Shetty attempted Project 2 and stared with the full form of FIFA and then told us about the history of FIFA and the ways in which Corruption took place inside the organization. He ended with a solution that the existing organization should be overthrown and a new organization should be formed .The Third Speaker Sarthak Kumar attempted project 4 and in his speech spoke about the host of the FIFA world cup 2014 Brazil. He explained why Brazil is the right host, the revenue and also the way which the Brazilian government has been a great support, how infrastructure has been improved and ended with praise for Brazil. The fourth speaker Shashank Tiwari Attempted Project 5 and elaborated on the various technologies that were used during the FIFA World Cup 2014 such as the containers that Sony used so that everyone could catch live action ,UHD which is used to get a clear picture, Goal line technology etc. He ended by saying that technology has made the game more enjoyable. The fifth speaker Rajat Chawla attempted his Advanced project and in his speech narrated a story told by a journalist to his trainees, where the journalist told his trainees that if they want to know about the FIFA champions they should learn about their faith. He inspired us with the lines of a song “I got to have faith’ and the various examples of footballers who follow the Run of Play and their faith Evaluators TM Surabhi Shrivastava,TM Amol Mali,TM Anu Moudgil,TM Umesh Agashe and TM Manisha Singh gave their respective target speakers their feedback Table Topics Master TM Sudarshan Mahajan had topics related to the theme and gave equal opportunities to both Toastmasters and Guests Timer TM Alkesh Sharma went according to the timing of the agenda Grammarian TM Paras Kher gave a detailed report on the bad and good usage of grammar Ah Counter TM Shreya Kanabar gave a detailed report on the Ahs Ums, fillers and pauses General Evaluator TM Deepti K’l gave a detailed report of the proceedings and commended the evaluators and role players and gave them recommendations as well President Azharuddin Khadri, during his concluding remarks ,informed everyone about the Club Officers Training Program (COTP) which will take place on 20th July at Magarpatta and handed over the best speaker honor,best evaluator honor and best table topics honor to the winners TM Rajat Chawla received the best speaker honor TM Manisha Singh received the best evaluator honor Eshan Singh received the best table topics honor The TMOD for the 274th chapter meeting of Toastmasters Club of Pune to be held on 19th July is TM Mohit Garg.Please contact him on 8605504740 for further details
