MONDAY, all day in LA ... The morning after. Call it an Oscar hangover but last night was very satisfying given an event that is usually very disappointing. .. The best Academy Award night for me happened in 2002, when Denzel Washington,and Halle Berry won for best actors, Sir Sidney Poitier was given the Life Time Achievement Award and Whopee hosted. Now that was a night Ill never forget. So, a dozen years later another night to be proud of, Congrats to Lupita Nyongo, John Ridley, Steve McQueen, and everyone associated with 12 YEARS. Needless to say how monumental this moment, this accomplishment is. Feeling a sense of pride and inspiration this morning mostly for the Academy for recognizing the work, the talent,the history of Americas horrific past. Just hope it doesnt take another 12 years for a night like this. Hey, 12 years. Hmmmmm. - LL
