MONDAYs activities.... We now have an updated forecast and have been able to assess the weather conditions out on the lake. The forecast for the storm has been downgraded, with predictions of wind speeds now forecast at 18mph with gusts in the mid 20’s for Monday, decreasing as the day goes on. It now looks like the worst of the storm will blow though in the early hours of Monday morning. The wind speed here is currently blowing less than forecast, so we are expecting speeds of 15 -25mph on Monday, which are perfectly sailable. We are thus going to continue the sailing courses as originally planned. Monday’s session will consist of some RYA theory in the morning followed by joy rides in Bahia’s, being helmed by our qualified instructors and some Pico sailing at the far side of the lake in the lee/shelter of the shore (where it is surprisingly nice and calm). All children will all be provided with wetsuits and buoyancy aids as usual, however we will insist that everyone (even those on the stage 3 and 4 courses) will wear helmets during Monday’s activities. We look forward to seeing you at the usual time of 09:30 – 16:30 on Monday. If the weather does change we will update you. If you want to check on Monday morning then please contact me on my work mobile: 07809310079 from 7:30am onwards. We appreciate that these high winds in the early hours of the morning may cause disruption to your journey, so do not worry about turning up later than planned, we will allow for this by running theory based sessions. Drive safe, and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
