WE ARE NO MORE FOOLS President Jonathan and his economic team arrived at N97 per litre of petrol in 2012 following increase in price of crude oil up to $120 per barrel in the international market. Now that crude prices has fallen below $48 per barrel, what is the justification for the government to retain the current pump price of petrol at N97 per litre? The same government illegally shared over N2.5 trillion to oil thieves in 2011 (Jonathans election year) as petrol subsidy payment without appropriation, whereas only N240 billion (N20b x 12) was lawfully budgeted for the same purpose in the same year.
