MOOSE NEWS UPDATE: SERPENT RIVER TEEN DIES FROM INJURIES: A teen involved in an accident early this month has died from his injuries. On Thursday, October 2, 2014, officers with the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a tractor trailer and a pedestrian on Highway 17 between Serpent River First Nation and Spanish. As a result of the injuries sustained in the collision, the pedestrian, Jacob Mimeault,19, of Serpent River First Nation succumbed to his injuries on October 26, 2014. OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) along with members of the East Algoma OPP Detachment are continuing their investigation into this matter. The OPP is asking if anyone has information about this collision to contact the East Algoma OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or if you wish to remain anonymous contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
