MORE ART FOR ARTS SAKE By Eddy Hawks LOS ANGELES, CA., April 9, 2014 -- When an artist becomes engrossed in the act of creating art, they can get into a rhythm whereby productivity goes up and many creations are born. There are many artists who have been prolific such as Marc Chagall, Gustav Klimt, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Henri Matisse, Rainer Maria Rilke, Auguste Rodin, William Shakespeare and Andy Warhol. There are many reasons for this. The artist will sell more art, gain popularity and become happier, for when an artist creates a new piece, they feel happy. It is as simple as that. Through the process of making something, the artist becomes filled with a sense of accomplishment, growth and development. Yesterday, Kat Hawks of American Ballet of Los Angeles and ABLA International created two new paintings called Red River and Buddhas Forest and I painted two called Blue Prophecy and Fleur de Bien. According to Kat Hawks, artists have a calling and yearning to create work which will move, speak to people and change the world. Natalia Goncharova, who helmed the Russian avant-garde, helped found Der Blaue Reiter and became known through her work with Serge Diaghilev of the Ballet Russes, inspired Red River. Kazimir Malevich, Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall and Wassily Kandinsky also influenced me. The paintings are acrylic on canvas and are on sale with all proceeds supporting the performing artists of American Ballet of Los Angeles.
