MUDASHIRU OWOIYA: THE AHMED GULAK OF MACOSA PRESIDENT. Last month, my article titled “what is our own ‘oga at the top’ doing for Macosites?” generated many reactions. Some, were reasonable, and as usual, majority, were abusive. In fact, a colleague of mine, one MUDASHIRU OWOIYA YAKUBU, wrote a rejoinder titled “CAN I ANSWER YOUR QUESTION?” In the piece, I raised some fundamental observations, which exposes the lapses and weaknesses of the incumbent MACOSA leadership and in contrast, as a direct opposite of the previous administration. I also highlighted some of the parameters which students gauges the performance of any leader in both departmental and faculty associations and even students unionism as a whole. Then, I said these parameters, are missing! The most fundamental of my observation was thus: “Now, let us all assume that these things are in place and up to standard; should this administration just fold its arms and keep on collecting people’s money without doing anything in the name of collecting dues?” Lastly in the piece, I offered an advice to the president to organize a debate and paper presentation in order to boost MACOSITES intellectual capacity. Mudashiru, in the course of defending his “Oga at the top” and also in trying to made us believe beyond reasonable doubt that his Oga is doing his job well; pointed out his boss ‘achievements’. He said, “It is unfortunate that some people fail to understand that being a snail or cheetah is not what qualifies a leader to be a competent, dedicated and having his people in mind, but his ability to be thinking iconoclastically.”May be Mudashisru is an advocate of siddon look leadership style, or to put it right, an advocate of saying without doing. And no one will disagree with me that the doing is much better than the saying! To further exposes Mudashiru’s rather illogical defense of his Oga, he said “Ogaga is the youngest ever Macosa president – it is the contemporary dog that knows how to chase the contemporary hare.” Age is just number. Therefore, it is no basis of judging the competency of a leader. President Jonathan is relatively young, compare to Mugabe, Castro etc, but he is amongst the worse presidents in the world. Again, he said that his Oga organized debate, not knowing that this writer sold the idea to his Oga. Of course, the electrification of the department is at least an achievement because some department adopted it. Obviously, what is more disgusting is the temerity and bluff of “GULAK” to vaunt his Oga’s achievement. He beseeched me to be calm that the patience dog eat the fattest borne. He said “My overtime observation and researches revealed that his (Ogaga) propositions for this department are indelible ones that would always be referred to as the department exist.” Now, I don’t know whether Ogaga’s ‘Gulak’ is indirectly telling us whether his Oga is staying beyond his tenure. Because, this administration have less than two months to handover, and ‘Gulak’ is telling us that they will achieve more than they have done. How possible is that? This reminds me of a post I read, quoting Ahmed Gulak, saying that “Nigerians have no alternative to Goodluck”. This is absolutely not true! He is paid to tell lies; because he is a professional liar. I obviously don’t know of this our own ‘Gulak’, maybe he is also paid to give Macosites false hope by saying “the patience dog eats the fattest borne”. For how long?
