MUI is forwarding the text received from Capt. Lavji Mistry of BW Maritime Pte Ltd., Mumbai for information of the officer: “ We have, during the last weekend, come to know about an imposter who is claiming to be a General Manager in our company, and soliciting applications for Deck Cadets and Trainee Engineers from various Maritime Training Institutes across the country. On receipt of this information from one of these institutes we have registered a formal complaint with the Andheri (East) Police Station, Mumbai on 16th November 2013. Furthermore we have today identified some individuals who were in the act of extorting some amounts from potential and unsuspecting cadets and trainee engineers outside our office compound and handed over the details to the concerned Police Station. We suspect that these individuals are connected with the imposter involved in the impersonation mentioned above. This matter is now being investigated by the authorities and we are assisting them as best as possible.”
