MURDER AT THE VAGABOND INN AND/OR WHERE NOT TO STAY WHILE VISITING SANTA ROSA....On a normal visit to Santa Rosa I would have booked a room at the Flamingo Hotel...(I actually worked as a cocktail waitress there once upon a summer ago out around the pool)....but as so often happens, hotels in Santa Rosa can book up quicker than you can make a reservation weeks in advance...so I ended up at the Vagabond Inn off Cleveland behind Sams Foreplay Cafe...checked in after 9:30 pm and aside from being inundated by sickly sweet room deodorizer upon entering my room, I noticed some ugly spots on the carpet...in fact, the carpet was wet, as if it had been shampooed by hadnt yet dried....but was too tired to hassle about it so I went to bed....the next morning, however, I noticed the ugly stains on the carpet bore a striking resemblance blood--scattered dots of dried blood and some larger reddish smudges where were someone had tried to wipe up a much larger stain....but I had a 25th wedding anniversary to go to and a gift to buy so again, decided to ignore it...finally get to the party later that afternoon only to learn that a young man had been murdered last month in the same Vagabond Inn where I was staying...(to be continued)
