MUSICIAN 9ice NEEDS JESUS, NOT MONEY: Around 7:20pm yesternite, I was drivin home when a lady presenter on BCOS 98.5FM, played a song by the musician called 9ice (real name Abolore). The title of the song was AJE which is a synonym for owo (money in Yoruba). In the song, 9ice said: Bi Jesu ti popular to Ko popular to owo... Meaning: As popular as Jesus is He isnt as popular as money... He then went on to make supplication to money to please come to him and that he needed it (money). I tried to listen carefully if he would mention Prophet Mohammed in similar vein but he did not. Of course, if he had done so, a fatwa would be on his head by now or Boko Haram would be looking for him to blow him into smithereens! Abolore, Jesus Christ once created money out of the mouth of a fish. And of course He fed 5000 people with what u would normally use money to buy - food - so He is the Only One that can afford to do without money! Methinks u need such a One who is the CREATOR instead of something that is His CREATION. I think the lady presenter, though she admitted not understanding Yoruba, should at least have asked someone to interpret to her what 9ice was saying there and her producer should have put NTBB (Not To Be Broadcast). Like I said, if it had been the other way, that station (which is funded with taxes paid by christians and muslims alike) would have incurred some wrath of telling proportions by now. Lastly, the 3rd Commandment in Exodus 20:7 says: You shall not take the Name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will NOT HOLD HIM GUILTLESS who takes His Name in vain. I HOPE 9ICES COUSIN, KUNLE ALLANBEE can read me, cos u are 1 of his crew members, pls pass my msg to him. May the Lord av mercy upon d soul of 9ice and may He fogive him and give understanding and perception to the management of BCOS so that they would know how not to spend taxpayers money in a way that injures their religious sensibilities.
