MUSLIMS AND TERRORISM:VICTIMS OR VILLAINS? The muslim world is in turmoil.We are either at the mercy of western war planes,home grown frenzied militants,western imposed proxy govt or state-sanctioned harassment,intimidation,execution and mass jailings.The gorry images from the Central African Republic where muslim victims are cannibalised and Kenya security forces treatment of the ethnic somali community are new fronts.We should not be playing frolic where we know danger lurks.From the 1990s massacre of the Bosnian muslims by the Slovak militia of Radovan Karadzic,to the destruction of Afghanistan and Iraq to the disintegration of Yemen and Somalia,the muslims are the most persecuted faith on earth.The cities of Fallujah and Baghdad in Iraq were once flourishing centres, today they are no more than bomb shattered buildings.Afghanistan, once promising theocratic state was grounded by the United State led western forces.Yemen is a former shadow of itself.Pakistans province of Waziristan is a play field for Americas drone airstrikes.The Turko-Chinese ethnic Uighur muslims are subjects of China govt led campaigns.The Rohingya muslims of Burma are victims of Buddhist terror gangs.Recently, somalis, as young as months old are in Kenyan jails.Eastleigh, once a peaceful multi-ethnic business hub is today borough of bombs and insecurity.While other Kenyan criminals are presumed to be innocent until proven,Somalis are presumed guilty until proven innocent in a rigorous psycho-torturing exercises and released after monies exchange hands.When a church is blown up, hundreds of muslims are rounded up and herded into cells like flocks of sheep.Others are simply executed.But when a muslim cleric is gunned down, the assailant are usually unknown.The western leadership and our own often claims the war on terror is not the on war Islam.But how comes often the suspects are always muslims? What crime did that aged mother being bungled into a police van in Eastleigh committed? What about her innocent babies looking on the camera?Are those kids of lesser god than baby Satrin Osinya? We know there is no John in Baghram airbase prison in Afghanistan.There is no Patrick in the notorious Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.There is no Joseph or Peter in Guantanamo Bay naval prison. All these prisons are full of Abdulmaliks,Ibrahims, Abdullahis, Muhammads and Alis.Tell us something new
