It will be no overstatement to say Akbar left little doubts about his gutter views: Shaykh Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi records in his Saviour of Islam about Akbars excesses: 1) One night the Emperor, in Fath-ullaahs presence, said to Beer Bal, I really wonder how any one in his senses can believe that a man, when body has a certain weight, could in the space of a moment leave his bed; there are 90,000 conversations with God, and yet on his return find his bed still warm! So also was the splitting of the moon ridiculed. why, said his Majesty. lifting up one foot, it is really impossible for me to lift up the other. What silly stories men will believe. (Muntakhabut-Tawarikh, Vol II p.326) 2) Names like Ahmad, Muhammad, Mustafa were changed to Rahmat because his Majesty Akbar didnt like it (Muntakhabut-Tawarikh, Vol II p.318) 3) Public prayers, adhaan, and prayers in jamaat were abolished including fasting nay even pilgrimage were forbidden by Akbar (Muntakhabut Tawarikh, Vol II, p.324)
