MUST READ. Today is the day I make a great stand. I am the youngest and the only African American male at my job out of 8 locations. I laugh I joke around but they do not want to see power. They are not capable of me when Im serious. I am a young African American Phenomenon intelligent intellectual and grounded. For me to be the writer and the young philosopher I have a voice and today Ive decided to speak out loud. Out of every job Ive ever had every holiday is celebrated with talk and declarations...St . Patricks day, thanksgiving, easter, Christmas, Halloween, 4th of July, new years eve, new years day, Valentines, April fools, but Martin Luther King day and black history month....I find that personally offensive. Some people dont even know the difference between his birthday and the actually day that we celebrate him. You can celebrity st. Patricks day and decorating the the lobby, the break room and every where else around the building in every office. Holidays that have no real value and no conscious meaning that holds no substance in conversation. Christmas is celebrated throughout the entire office...there is not a spot nor corner of decoration missed...and everybody doesnt celebrate Christmas. I am AFRICAN AMERICAN and I refuse to negotiate nor compromise my beliefs. I have rights and how I feel and what I present today doesnt pass this obviously shows where we stand today. Because if you can put up a short green man up for St . Patricks day and everyone can wear green I can wear a Martin Luther King shirt and put up history facts and accomplishments and things that we did and achieved as people. I dont care with nobody say to me...I aint shutting up because Im right! Theu want you to shut up. Do you know how powerful this will be if I can have African American photos and accomplishments posted all every where around the office as they do Christmas and Halloween. Truth is they cant handle truth!!! Because they dont wanna see us rise or be celebrated you know why because theu would of been started doing this. They want to say yeah this not a racial thing because we have other African American people that work here...you want me to be satisfied with the job I got and not with the one I can have. You want me to be tolerated but not triumphant! You want me to think I can easily come to you and talk about some Halloween bs and lets out up a scarecrow and a ghost that represents evil but Lord forbidden if I ask about putting up a righteous man that stood for equality and togetherness. Do let put up somebody that die fighting for us to be able to drink out of the same water fountain, to sit in the same breakroom, to use the same bathroom. They aint ready for me...you wanna show me we are equal PROVE IT #YoungPhenomenon
