MWM is temporarily closed due to molten lava. We received evacuation notice on Saturday, needed to be moved out on Sunday, and found flowing lava on our land on Tuesday morning. I thought I would share some photos, because lava is so cool. (Not to belittle its destructive force: an structure burned down on our land and our house is still not quite safe, our neighbor is watching the home that has been in his family for generations bisected by a giant wall of lava, and every person in my town and the surrounding area will be impacted when the lava bisects the town and crosses the highway.) But, you are here because you love science, and there is a lot of science to love in this. We are perfectly fine, although shocked and sleep-deprived. We cant return to our house, and Im not sure how long it will be before I am set up in a new location and can open MWM again.
