MY COMMENTS ON CHINESE AND INDIAN ECONOMY IN THE HINDU 1 Increasing the participation of the labour force is the determinant of the further development of India. Mobilization of MARRIED women, increasing the age of retirement and breaking all the remaining caste and culture related bondages of the labour with the land are the important steps to be taken to ensure it. Similarly we also can’t blame democracy for the economic problems of India. There are India specific socio economic and political bottle necks create constrains for the development. Exclusion of married woman from the labour force, caste and gender biased management practices, democracy strained by linguistic inequality and the growing socio economic dichotomy between costal and land logged states are some of those bottle necks hampering the economic growth and development of India. Indian democracy need the political will to identify and remove such socio economic bottle necks. thehindu/opinion/op-ed/comment-can-india-catch-up-with-china/article6757519.ece?homepage=true
