@MY FATHERS BARBER MATT BROWN Yo!! If anyone knows ANYTHING about 20 chrome book computers stolen from Woolston School - Te Kura o Roimata on the weekend then HOLLA at my daughters teacher below!! Honestly not cool stealing from anyone BUT a school classroom is pretty low!!! Man, Im SO GUTTED! I just received a call from my tumuaki (principal) with news that our school (Woolston School) got broken into last night! Not only that, they targeted my classroom and stole 20 Chromebooks (laptop computers) that were bought for the kids using a grant that was very hard to secure. Our school is a low decile school so obtaining technology like this is very hard to do. We only just started utilising the Chromebooks full time and the benefits from using such technology was instantly apparent - My kids are going to be so upset when they find out about this. The thing I cant help but shake is that the person/those involved must have known about the computers and where/how they were stored - nothing else in my class was taken or disturbed. So I have a feeling it was someone local or who knows someone that attends Woolston School. Please, if anyone knows anything about the disappearance of the Chromebooks or comes across someone in Christchurch trying to sell one cheap to friends (or even family), contact myself directly or Woolston School principal Janeane Reid. They are a relatively new type of laptop that has no hard drive and links directly to Google Chrome/Drive online and must have a WiFi connection to work. My classroom kids will have their photos on the login page and they will be password protected, so it will be difficult to use them. Please help us get them back. We, the staff and school, are trying to give our kids the best possible education that we can and the Chromebooks were enhancing that endeavour. Whoever took them has no regard to children, their education, aspirations and dreams! What appalling people!!!!
