MY FIRST EXPERIENCE ____________________ Ive never done crowd funding ever, before now. The fear then was that If youre unable to reach your goal (target amount) then your campaign is voided. Because of the magnitude of this ambitious project, the Camera4Development team has to take it out for crowdfunding. For a refugee camp-type donation, youve got to be effective. Indiegogo, as a crowdfunding platform provides safe and secured avenue for people to render their support towards a charitable cause. WHY INDIEGOGO FOR CASH DONATION? We love physical aids donations by members and volunteers. But because Maiduguri is far and the scale of donation were targeting are truck loads, we decided to go for cash donations so we can cut down travelling times and logistics by procuring all needed items in Maiduguri, get local transport to deliverer across 3 main settlement sites of Government Girls Secondary School Maiduguri camp, NYSC camp and Teachers Village camp. If you ask me personally, I will say Im scared if we can pull it off on Indiegogo. But again, we call it UNITED DONATIONS. Why should I be afraid? Ive close to 2000 FB friends who in turn has thousands of networks- meaning if anyone of us share the Indiegogo donation link were sure to spread the campaign to millions of connections. This is a good cause to help our brothers & sisters displaced up North. Lets prove were not people wholl easily share gossips, funny/celebrity pics, RIP posts and yet will find it so hard to join forces to bring HOPE TO A SUFFERING PEOPLE.
