MY HEART TODAY: I hope everyone out there is enjoying a relaxing day to start your new year! 2014 was so painful losing momma... but so joyful gaining a new love. Im so grateful just to have had such a special grandmother to raise me and love me so. She got to meet Johnathon and he played his mandolin so sweet for her. I saw that it transported her to her North Carolina mountain home. She also always loved the sound of a dulcimer. Santa brought me a dulcimer when I was around 10 years old : ) I was trying not to dread the holidays... trying to keep my gratitude in check.. but the few days leading up to Thanksgiving & especially Christmas.. I was sinking into a deep blue for sure. There really are no words to express my gratitude to friends/family both new and old who shared kind words, a meal, hugs... tears and laughter.. I know she saw her children, grands and great-grands carrying on.. loving and celebrating life. I felt her and saw her in each of my kindred. She was everywhere. Im looking forward to 2015... watching my children grow and express themselves creatively, witnessing my sweet love, Johnathon Letner (Brother John) and his family travel and experience an amazing musical journey with EmiSunshine. There sure is a whole lot going on.. but Im so excited for the Blue Ridge Blood sessions in Austin. Weve got to nail down the dates.. but it sure is gonna feel good to get back in the studio. My best friend Elizabeth will be doing the same... I know Ive said it many times before... but I sure do love how this music brings us all together. I want to thank each of you for your friendship and support. I hope this year will be a good one for you and that you have big heapings of beautiful in your life. Im pretty sure heapings is only in the appalachian dictionary.. but momma said it my whole life.. so that makes it one of the best words period : ) She also liked to say I love you a bushel and a peck.. and a hug around the neck A big thanks to around 33,000 folks who watched and shared our HAPPY NEW YEAR VIDEO last night. I got tickled reading the comments... some of yall thought we were toasted : ) Ill tell ya one thing for sure.. Ive never had so many sober laughs in my whole life as I have with this man in 7 months.. but we absolutely toasted a bottle of honeysuckle champagne last night and watched The Best of The Marty Stuart shows... felt so nice to be home for New Years.. we may not have that luxury much in the coming years. PEACE, SOUL and APPALACHIAN ROCK N ROLL! CR
