MY RIGHT TO ABSTAIN As the 2015 Presidential elections draw - TopicsExpress

MY RIGHT TO ABSTAIN As the 2015 Presidential elections draw near, I have had cause to search deeply on the state of affairs in Nigeria and I think the Jonathan administration is by far the worst in the history of Nigeria. Jonathan does not have any business in Aso rock. I never voted for him because I knew he just didnt have it. Look at how he handled the transition to power after Yaradua died. Turai treated him as a nothing and it was just fine by him. The office of The President is like any other job. You have a job description and a policy on take over. If the man was dead, then take over! No, He waited till the US shoved him into the seat of power. That was a bad sign. I never voted for him because I was right. He is weak and doesnt know what to do. We will not survive another 4yrs of this man. Fate has dealt us a cruel blow. I however do not believe in the person of Buhari. The deaths of hundreds in the post 2010 elections in the north is something I just cant shake off. When he lost to the incumbent, we called on Buhari to speak out against the killings of Southerners and he turned the other way. He never did. There can not be true change where there is no justice. Buhari sanctioned those killings and it came home to me. He is not the change we need. A man who does not value the sanctity of life cannot be the change. Nigeria is plagued with different diseases of religion, ethicity, tribalism etc but worst of it all is the disease called selective amnesia. We choose to forget things that should not be forgotten. People should not be killed every time you near the doors of Aso Rock (either under a military junta or when you loose elections). This is just wrong. In whatever name- corruption or whatever. Nigeria as an entity is neither Christian nor Muslim. We are Nigerians so you cannot kill people because you dont like them or you suspect them or for whatever reasons. I will exercise my right not to vote. Cause either way, we loose. Out of 160 million Nigerians, this cannot be the best. It a mockery of every sane and intelligent individual. Its simply the basics. If we truly crave change, then lets change for the better. What change could Buhari possibly bring? If you want someone to fix Nigeria, look towards the private sector. There are supper entrepreneurs that made great institutions out of nothing. We need to stop recycling army generals in different guises or politicians that did nothing during their tenures in office. Look at Tony Elumelu, Fola Adeola, Chukwuma Soludo, Lamido Sanusi, Tunde Fashola, Jim Ovia. If you want change, then that is true change. I reserve my right to abstain and I will exercise that right. So please, If you see me post like a page or LOL or LMAO over your candidate, dont tear your clothes, I am not voting. Am just enjoying the moment. True change will come, but not as a 72 year old.
