MY TWO CENTS GOD AND COUNTRY One need only look at the writings of our founding fathers and of the day to get a sense of how they felt about God and Country. Upon the signing of the Declaration of Independence Benjamin Franklin stated: “We must hang together or most assuredly we will hang separately”. Mr. Franklin understood the challenges facing those who now openly opposed the rule of a King. Failure to secure freedom from England would assuredly brand them traitors and all would hang for the offense. What could have possible driven these men of sound reason and consciousness to act in such a manner? To some it must have appeared as sheer madness. To England rebellion, but to our founding fathers a right to live free. Their faith carried them, their courage set upon the rock. History records the struggle and the miracles of that conflict and the eventual blessing of freedom. The world’s largest super power of the day silenced and defeated by a ragtag few with small resource, but great faith. This is a Nation dedicated to GOD and founded on principles older than time. Let history record that in this current assault on our foundations and values, they we did not abandon the cause, nor shrank from our obligation. Let future generations of Americans look back upon us and say thank you. Jim Woods
