MY email to CNN today: Dear Sir Im an avid follower of CNN on the MH370 mystery especially. While most of what was reported is factual, there is a key point that was, and may I add, repeatedly misreported. The SMS/text message sent by Malaysia Airlines to the families of the victims was not sent in English only but also in Chinese. Bear in mind that some 14 nationalities were on board but Malaysian Airlines did cater for the majority Chinese specifically. There was sizeable Malaysian passengers but no Malay translation was sent. If this happened in USA or Europe, the text (assuming that method was chosen) would have only be sent in English and nobody would be lamenting about it? Furthermore, the text was sent as a follow up AFTER the Malaysia Airlines officials had spoken with family members that they were able to contact directly. Admittedly, for those that they did not manage to personally speak with, the SMS/text would have appeared insensitive. But let us not blame the manner in which this message was relayed, in a totally erroneous manner. I hope you can address this misreporting in your future reports. Ramesh Rajaratnam Kuala Lumpur
