MYTHS? - The news article posted below is FULL of more myths than the 3 is purports to bust! Misery may indeed love misconception, as the artcle states, but the CDC and the FDA seem to love outright lies. Myth #1 - This years shot protects against this years flu strains. Sorry, by their own admission in the article, this years shot only protects against LAST YEARS strains, the only ones available when they put the stew in the cauldron to make this years vaccine. So, unless you are a time traveler, youre out of sync. (I put protects in quotes, because it doesnt - especially if the recipient is under the age of 5 or 6. There is NO PROOF whatsoever that getting a flu shot will protect a child from the flu.) Myth #2 - The number of flu-related deaths swings widely from one year to another but ranges from about 3,000 to 49,000, according to a CDC analysis. Those numbers are a little closer to the truth than the old standard 36,000 every year the CDC used to claim, BUT they do not differentiate between deaths from influenza and deaths due to PNEUMONIA, which is a completely different animal. While many people who get the flu also get pneumonia (probably IN the hospital), it is disingenuous to say the flu CAUSED all of those deaths. 2,500 to 3,000 per year is probably much closer to the truth - out of 300 million - which equals about 0.001% of the population. Myth #3 - Somebody does safety studies before releasing new vaccines to the general public. In a word - NOPE! (Because testing would only prove theyre NOT SAFE.) Myth #4 - Getting a flu shot will improve your chances of staying healthy this winter. Again, NOPE. Getting a flu shot will increase the chances that your body will HAVE TO GET SICK in order to cleanse itself of all the toxins in the shots. And getting one every year will eventually double your chances of getting Alzheimers at some point in the future. Taking a Vitamin D3 supplement and WASHING YOUR HANDS will do a lot more toward keeping you healthy than getting any vaccine. https://yahoo/health/3-flu-vaccine-myths-busted-100695251677.html
