MacEwan University is looking for clients for their second year clinical practice students: MASSAGE THERAPY TEACHING CLINIC Room 9-310 Robbins Health Learning Centre Ph: 780 497-4102 E: [email protected] September – December 2014, Thursday’s ONLY MTST 260 CLINICAL PRACTICE III: The first portion of the massage clinic will run on Thursday’s from September 11 to October 16 2014. Patients must commit to attend the entire block of one hour appointments (six weeks) with the same student, and at the same time each week. Appointment dates are: September 11, 18, 25, October 2, 9, 16. Available time is 3:15 p.m., or you may be on the wait for cancellations for the other times available, as outlined below. For this portion of the clinic, we are looking for patients with neck, upper back and upper extremity problems. Students will provide both wellness and therapeutic massage. They will use a range of techniques to suit your needs such as hydrotherapy, myofascial release, manual lymphatic drainage, trigger point therapy and stretching. During the initial visit, the student massage therapist will perform an assessment and develop a personalized treatment plan based on your individual needs. In the following five weeks, the students will provide assessment and treatment based on your individual needs. · Available Thursdays only. · Due to class scheduling, if an appointment is missed; there are no make-up appointments. · Full participation in the entire six week block of appointments is vital to student learning. · Please arrive on time for your appointments. · The cost for the 6 week series is $100 total, payable on Day 1. There will be no refunds for missed appointments. We accept Debit, MC, Visa, and American Express. We are looking for patients with neck, upper back and upper extremity problems such as headaches, frozen shoulder, bursitis, tendonitis, postural problems, muscle spasms, edema, muscle tightness, sprains and strains.
