Machine learning poses a challenge to the species. The more effective it becomes, the bigger the economy becomes, but the less the economy will be able to grant living resources to minorities and eventually majorities. Those left still in the loop will have to compete harder for less, and society will become quickly less just and unified. Minor rivalries and superstitions will quickly escalate as the pie reserved for all shrinks in favor of the few who are still part of the real economy. And worst part of this is the insipid ignorance with electoral majorities. If people where aware theyd be on the street protesting. But people resent becoming aware. This may escalate far faster can we currently regard as possible. I just happen to be part of a very small minority of human beings that is aware and well-educated of the Singularity thesis. I no longer regard a mostly (or exclusively) uncontrolled Singularity kind of event as impossible before 2030. In other words, we are drifting in to alien territory at an exponential rate. And when I state this I realize 95% of people wont have a clue what I am describing - and consequently the losers of the world wont give a damn.
