Madaket and Humboldt Bay Maritme Museum EUREKA, CA—Susana Munzell, Chair of the Humboldt Bay Harbor Working Group (HBHWG) announces that Leroy Zerlang will make a presentation on “The Madaket and Humboldt Bay Maritime Museum” at the September lunch forum to be held at the Samoa Cookhouse at 12 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Leroy Zerlang, Captain of the Madaket (humboldtbaymaritimemuseum/madaketcruises.html) will share information about the Madaket’s over 100 year history and discuss historical information available at the Humboldt Bay Maritime Museum. The HBHWG organizes a no-host lunch forum the last Wednesday of each month to educate the community on activities and possibilities on and around the Humboldt Bay Harbor. Past presentation topics have included the overview of the Harbor, Artificial Reef Development, current Harbor and Port projects, agricultural cargo, short sea shipping, and shellfish culture. The public is encouraged to come learn and ask questions. Lunch is optional. On September 25th, the main lunch menu will cost $12.95; or, soup and salad for $9.95. The lunch begins at 12 p.m. (noon) and ends at 1:30 p.m. with the presentation at 12:45 p.m. Attendees are requested to RSVP by calling Charlie Bean, 441-1974 by Monday, September 23, 2013. The Samoa Cookhouse is located off Cookhouse Road the first street south of the Samoa Bridge on the peninsula.
