I am so sorry about the looong delay in updating!! I, AGAIN!, spilled a cup of coffee and my MacBook, and this time it quit breating :/ We have had an amazing month at ECTP, and most of the photos that went with it were on the dead computer, and we are hoping to retrieve them from the hard drive to share with you all soon! While we have been running ragged, a friend, who is like family, became our new VP, and has partnered up to invest in a much needed, nice new 33+ acre Equestrian Facility in Ellensburg!! This will be life changing for our program, we already have a willing trainer to come on board, will also be starting a couple of businesses to help support our cause! We have been sitting on the edge of our seats, biting our nails, waiting on the keys It feels like months, although it has only been 4 weeks! Dr. Tuley came and spent an afternoon with one of our permanent residents, Sugar. She is an 18 yr. old Arabian, who we all adore! Sugar arrived with an injured eye, which she is blind in, and the inner eyelid was torn, and partially detached. It stuck up, obstructing her ability to blink properly, or shut her eye completely. Dr. T removed that portion of the eyelid, after giving her pearly whites a much needed float~ Her eye looks amazing, and you can tell she is feeling better, being able to blink and open and close her eye normally! Navarro’s trial adoptive mom, who by the way, is looking like his adoption will go through next month!~ paid to have his teeth floated as well! Our amazing farrier, Geri, has visited 3 times this month, and pedicures were had by, Zilarator, who has to be trimmed every 4 weeks to keep up on the hoof that he almost lost to white line disease, it grows much more rapidly than the others, Charlie, Alice, Trevor, Navarro, Mama Ella, Allie, Big John, Sevita and Titan~ Geri will be back in a little over a week to get the rest of the kids done! Our special girl, Fancy, now, Canadian Fuzz reg. name, Dr. Fuzz, lol, has been officially adopted by Kim!! I get tears thinking of how happy Fancy is with her new family!! We couldn’t have found a more perfect home for her! About 3 ½ weeks ago my phone went off, after a few texts, I found it, and it was a good friend who gives her life to visiting feedlots all over WA, and parts of OR, to list and find homes for as many horses as possible that are in holding waiting for the truck to arrive to haul them to a slaughter plant The texts I received were a gelding is at Stanwood packing, and a whole load of horses he was with just shipped, and if we cant find him a place he will be on the next truck… although we are a bit crowded, we couldn’t say no, talked it over, and he arrived 3 days later, lame, and it looked as though he was bashed in the head? Not sure if that was the result of an overcrowded trailer, or???? He is getting better, the stall/head weaving is lessoning, we give him free run of the ranch during the day with Sevita, who is our first Fancy Paying it Forward recipient~ We decided to pay it forward with Fancy’s adoption fee to save a mare who was in holding to ship to slaughter, and hope to continue this program for years to come~ we will either use the current mare’s adoption fee to do it next, or if the mare ends up retired with us, we will start a fund, and when we get the amount needed, will purchase the next girl. Sevita came in with hooves unlike any I have seen, a large gash on her front leg, and what looked like rope marks from her chest to her tail She is one of the most compassionate horses I have had the priveledge to care for~ Always comes up to tuck her head under my arm… I have a feeling she may make a little girl happy in the future… Have pictures of the newbies, and oldies here and will get them uploaded to share with you all tonite ~ Thank you for your continued support!!
