Madame X and I spent the evening listening to the new class of premier singers at the Academy of Vocal Arts (AVA) in Philadelphia, PA. We sat ten feet away in the very intimate setting, while some of the best singers in the world did three songs each: usually including an aria from an opera, and a song from a musical... a serious song and a funny one, and other types of music. This was an incredible experience. I took pictures, which will be posted tomorrow, though it will be very busy for me tomorrow. Many of these young artists have already won national vocal contests, and they are from all over the world. We all socialized afterward.
