Made the mistake of re listening to one of the new Pixies songs again, I really dont get it. I know I shouldnt feel some sort of entitlement for the pixies to release something that suits my ideas of what the pixies were and honestly I dont think I do. I have a lot of respect for bands that change their sound but most of the newest Pixies songs sound recycled from Frank Black material with most of the shining points coming from Joey Santiagos guitar work. Maybe its just me being miserable but surely for a band with so much experience and reputation to adhere to they would try to push the creative boat out a little more and make a bit of a statement as apose to releasing some pretty average pop songs... Any way rant over, feel free to shoot me down for anything you might disagree with me on.
