Madison Common Council tables vote on pit bull ordinance Posted: Mar 19, 2014 MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Common Council has tabled a vote on a proposal to limit the citys pit bull population. The council did put it on file meaning it could be brought back up without having to wait for a set period of time. The ordinance would have required all pit bulls over five months old to be spayed or neutered. Supporters of the proposal say reducing the breeds population would also cut down on pit bull euthanasia rates, abuse, and fatalities. People opposed say a new law will not solve the problem. An ordinance will not make people have the money or the knowledge that spaying and neutering is part of responsible pet ownership, said Allison Davies, who works at Shelter from the Storm Animal Rescue, Inc.
