Mads Rant on Schools. [Long Rant] I never really thought of myself - TopicsExpress

Mads Rant on Schools. [Long Rant] I never really thought of myself being Anti-School although I disliked a majority of my middle and high school years. I greatly value the educations I received in elementary school [though I didn’t care for it then] but it laid out a basic knowledge I could expound on later on in my school life. The art classes and english classes were the best and I often excelled in science and english a trend that stayed throughout my mid and high school career. But when I entered high school I became increasingly dissatisfied with both HOW was being taught. It isn’t that wasn’t being taught but it was more that I was only being taught certain things. I hated history and even to this day I have a complete distaste of it because It teaches partial truths. History in America refuses and denies any and all past transgression committed by the State. Which is how you can make America seem like the sole and righteous good of WW2 although it is widely known of their Japanese based Xenophobia and presence of Japanese internment camps and fought the Nazis who had a system of racial purity and killed off many of those who were deemed racially impure and not up to standard. This was a philosophy called “Eugenics” a philosophy that was created and spurred on in America itself decades before the Nazi regime that made racial mixing illegal and by law you could not get married to others outside your race. This was a system to keep the “purity” of the white race from mixing with the races they thought were impure and inferior [the blacks]. You see America was practicing subtle forms of the same philosophy in which the Nazis did while fighting them as well. The lesser of two evils is still evil. There is also my huge complaint on so called “arts” in the school. I always found it weird the older one gets and move up their educational career the less and less available mediums of self-expression exist. The arts in schools nowadays are bare and non existent in some school and our appreciation of artist has never been higher. This could stem from the obvious flawed thinking perpetuated by existing art programs where students are only being taught a certain type of art and all other forms are dismissed as lower forms or ‘not art’. By restricting our forms of self-expression we are being taught limited creativity that only falls in line with what popular voices want it to be making it easier to sell product to us by our now uniform taste and styles. [This is why and how mainstream stays mainstream]. So whose creativity are we really channeling in school? Is it really ours? And are we really being taught to be young happy go getters or future workers who work for others profit while we receive a factions of fraction of their profit. But who knows maybe I should just finish this ice cream
