Maggie and Grace made a very special visit to the 2nd Graders at Father John V. Doyle School in Coventry today. Thanks to Mrs. Deb Hodor Moone, we squeezed in a Tails To Teach class just before the end of the school year. Maggie was in her GLORY, squishing her way in between kids to maximize her potential for getting some serious ear rubs and chin scratches. Grace was her usual sleepy self until the dog treats came out - then did some light stretching up against a file cabinet before doing every trick she knew - all at the same time. Hilarious! What a great time we had! The lesson for today was MULTIPLY GRACE and while I thought I was encouraging the kids to be kind and generous citizens of the world - they had a BIG surprise in store for me. At the very end of class, one small girl quietly handed me an envelope and told me that what was inside was to help the dogs. There was over $135 inside. And that was collected in just over two days. So, thank you 2nd Graders, teachers and families who went out of your way to make a contribution to Tails To Teach. Your generosity means that many more kids in other schools in RI can have Grace, Maggie and Couscous visit them too. Way to pay it forward!!!
