Magic Moment Wednesday In our family of four, we all have responsibilities. Here are some examples… Mornings: Dad – Wake the kids up Dad – Get breakfast for the kids Dad – Get kids ready for school Dad – Make lunches for kids and mom Mom – Take kids to school on the way to work Evenings: Mom – Wash the kids Dad – Get their teeth brushed Dad – Take out the garbage You might see more Dads than Moms on the list. Before you think Mom has it easy, she doesn’t. I have the opportunity to wear my PJs, sit on my bed and work all day. Mom has about a 40-minute drive to the kid’s school and another 10-minute ride to work. Not always the best of times! When it comes to the lunches, I have a routine. The evening before, I get together all the prepackage stuff (i.e. fruit stick, juice box, fiber and cereal bars, etc.). To all my healthy friends don’t worry; it’s almost all organic! ☺ Once the PB & J is made, I put the lunch boxes open on the side of the counter. See, before we can put our son’s lunch box in his backpack (Our daughter is in pre-school so no lunch yet), there is one more job. Mom comes downstairs, takes a piece of paper, writes a special note, cuts it into a shape (i.e. Triangle, Square, Octagon, etc.), puts the note in the lunch box, closes the lunch box and puts the lunch box in his backpack. These notes wish our son an outstanding day and tell him how much we all love him. This is a little magic moment her mom did for her when she was in kindergarten. If his day is amazing, then this little addition will just add a little more and keep his day amazing! If his day is full of opportunities to grow, this note might be what he needs to make it a better day. #MagicMomentWednesday
