Mahajan seeks PM, Sonia intervention to start Mass Communication course in JU Expressing concern over the delay of starting Mass Communication course in Jammu University, Shri Ram Sena Jammu- Kashmir State President, Rajiv Mahajan said the former Chief Minister of J and K, Ghulam Nabi Azad had sanctioned Rs 1 crore during his tenure for the purpose of starting Mass Communication course in Jammu University, but till date nothing has been done in this matter. In a statement issued here today, Mahajan lambasted JU authorities which have been failed to start Mass Communication course in Jammu University despite lapse of more than six years and the amount sanctioned for that which remained a mystery till date. He appealed to the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi, on their visit to J and K on 25 th June, 2013, to ask JU authorities about the funds sanctioned by the former Chief Minister and why they are delaying to start the mass communication course in JU. Mahajan mentioned that in Kashmir University, the Mass Communication course was started some 25 years back but Jammu University is still deficient which depicts the step-motherly treatment meted out to Jammu people at the hands of Kashmir centric NC led Congress Government. Mahajan further said the State Coalition Government is always give step motherly treatment to the Jammu region on the name of development. Mahajan also appealed to the Governor N,N Vohra, who is also the Chancellor of JU, and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, who is Pro Chancellor JU, to enquire into the matter why the amount of rupees one crore sanctioned by the then Chief Minister G.N Azad has not been utilised and Mass Communication course started till today? Mahajan demanded a high level probe in to the affair to do away with the discrimination meted out to Jammu people and to start Mass Communication course in Jammu University from the current session.
