Mahalo to Lehua for this update on Alii: UPDATE FOR ALII DAY 2... Alii is staying there over night at kamaaina pet hospital. hes getting X-ray, ultrasound imagining and sending it to the board so it can be reviewed by a few specialist, blood test for any changes from last weeks blood test results, screening for lime diease etc... hes getting the full deal.. so far they found that his 4 chamber heart in chamber 1 & 3 releases the blood in 2 & 4 but some of the blood that supposed to go down goes back up which isnt bad at all... most dogs have this so its nothing to worry about!! but shes checking all the functions of his liver and kidney, also i learned that even if you use monthly heart worm treatment sometimes the 30 day treatment doesnt last thru the full 30 days... sometimes it weakens by the 3 week and then dogs still contract the heart worms even when they are on the prevention meds... so shes checking for heartworms... $675 and this doctor is really working to find out whats wrong with my boy!! the other hospital YUCK!! sucked $1300 right outta meeh for nothing.. they barely did any test they pretty much just watched him over night... UPDATE FOR ALII DAY 6... Hes doing well.. slowing coming around but still not 100% his blood and urine came back normal, no toxins... No heart worms... His chest X-ray and ultrasound came back normal no internal tumors.. His heart is fine... so his illness is still unknown... if alii doesnt improve in 2 weeks then were gonna further it and get a c-scan and also check his brain.. this approach is very expensive but hes my baby and we want him back to his old self again!! my other dogs (boxer: Nakoa & Champ and Pearl out 1 yr old 2 lb chihuahua) is so worried about him.. when he was gone, they all didnt eat cuz they were sad and now thats hes home they all cuddle together..
